Welcome to the website of the Institute of Biology of the University of Pécs!

The Institute of Biology is the most versatile institute of our Faculty. Our research work focuses - concentrates - reacts - adapts to the major problems of the world (e.g., climate change, biohazards, environmental challenges). If you want to do something for humanity; if you want to such work that helps to avoid or overcome situations like those that define the lives of humanity today; and if you care about the fate of nature and our environment, then there is nothing else to do but...

...Choose us, because nothing is more present than #ptettk and the biology major! The Institute consists of six departments dealing with many important areas of biology, such as genetics, hydrobiology, neurobiology, plant anatomy, plant and animal systematics, plant physiology, ecology and biogeography, molecular biology, microbiology, comparative animal anatomy and developmental biology, cell biology, and virology.
